the opteka battery grip is a far better value for money item than the original (and more expensive canon grip )the finish matches the body of my 450d does what you would expect , it even comes with a free camera kit including a small table top tripod plus an adapter so u can use aa bateries , all in all excellent value for money you will not be disappointed

Everything has already been said, so I just wanted to add another 5* review.
This grip is simply awesome. And it is also worth noting that this is every bit as good as the Canon original, but comes with two very reasonable batteries.

What can I say that has not been said already, I recently purchased a canon 450D as a package deal with Tripod Rucksack ect. But the camera felt a bit small in my big hands so was looking at he Battery grip but didn't bother as I thought the Canon one was too pricey.
That was until I came across this one on Amazon, I was a bit unsure about buying this item at first but after reading the reviews thought why not especially as it came with 2 extra batterys, so ordered one from 47th Street Photo on Wed 21 April Recieved it Mon 26 April 5 days that includes weekend their service is excellent.
Had a quick play with grip installed feels Quality, only thing that bothered me was the selection wheel on the grip didn't seem as positive as the camera one, but hey it works fine so I'm happy.
The added Bonus to this package was the camera & lens cleaning kit 47th Street Photo supplied as a gift.
Would I recommend them to Friends......Yes I would.
P.S. You dont supply twin battery chargers do you??????

Like others I already have a Canon grip, in my case for a 300D and was sceptical as to the quality of any substitute when purchasing a battery grip for my 500D. I needed have had no worries. The unit is great quality, if anything in my opinion even better than my Canon one, fits tightly, has high quality rubber coating making the whole unit a comfortable and secure/steady grip.
A word about the experience of dealing with a seller on the other side of the 'pond',another of my worries if anything went wrong...being so far away. Firstly, the grip was delivered faster than I get many deliveries from UK suppliers. The batteries advertised were out of stock when I made my order. Rather than keep me waiting they supplied two alternative batteries and are sending the now in stock ones at the moment (no cost). They have been courteous, quick to respond with a level of service I rarely experience today. Would I recommend to family..yes, already have. To friends...yes already have. Will have no hesitation in buying from them again
