I bought this camera in July 09 as an emergency replacement for my old trusted sony T1 on the way to airport. Sleek look, metal body, promise of image stabilization with 10 Mp and respected manufacturer sealed the deal. Off I went to my holidays with brand new camera. Things which became apparent pretty soon: tinny fragile build -ok I can live with it for a price; poor battery life - not so good when it lasted only half day out on full charge; extreme lag betheen pressing the button and taking photo - its bad, so bad that even iphone camera is a speed racer in comparison, taking the photos of anything alive proven to be an almost impossible task, forget about snapshots with it, image stabilization is phony electronic boost of ISO to 1600 with image grain and other unpleasanties which has to be specifically activated and cannot be used with normal AUTO mode. After coming back from holidays I plugged it into my computer to download the photos and that when I realize even more unpleasant facts: it CANT take an even so-so photos, out of 400+ photos focus was off for at least 70-80%; all colours are dull - if you want to know how the world looks with cataracts on both eyes this is the camera for you. I do not expect a budget camera to match my SLR, but to do better than my mobile phone would be nice. My ancient 5MP Sony was a starship in comparison with this junk and always taken a consistently decent images.DO NOT BUY - WASTED MONEY

Good little camera this, very compact and can fit in your pocket easily, also seems to have all the funtions you would need from this size of camera. Like the fact it has a re-chargeable Li-ion battery. Great sized screen too.

good points first.. small and slim and silver nice.. very easy to use overall, the camera should be a first timer for a person who is joining the digital revaluation.. OK bad points not the best zoom but you can edit later i guess, and no site glass to view although the screen is OK i do like a site see also,, overall i like it

It was an excellent camera and took great shots, but unfortunately developed a fault within a month so had to return it. Awarded it 5 stars for quality when it was working. Sadly no longer available at Amazon, so it's back to the drawing board :-(

I purchased the Fujifilm J20 a few months back and have been totally disappointed. Yes, it looks nice. Yes, the metal body is tactile and implies quality construction. Yes, it is compact and yes, it has a large viewing screen, but - and it is a big but, if you want to take crisp, well exposed snapshots with this camera forget it!
I found the menu system cumbersome, the exposure and colour reproduction poor, the flash was poor, the shutter delay infuriating, but worst of all the camera really struggles to do what it should do best ie; produce sharp images. The viewing screen is big but on very bright days (despite an LCD brightness control) it is all but useless and you will be wishing that you spent a few more pounds on a camera which has a better screen and / or an additional conventional viewfinder.
We bought this camera to replace our slightly cumbersome Sony DSC-V1 which has been obsolete for around 4 years now and which only sports 5 mega pixels. Well, our old Sony outperforms this Fujifilm J20 in EVERY department other than the fact that it has a larger body size!
Perhaps I was expecting too much from what is a budget priced camera, but in this case the old expression is bang on - You only get what you pay for!
